Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 26 June 2026; Last Updated: 26 June 2026

Level Up Times ("LUT", "we", "us", "our") operates LevelUpTimes.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our Site, create an account, or use our services — including live stream viewing, community features, and your personal game library. Please read it carefully. By using the Site, you consent to the practices described below.

Level Up Times is operated by an Australian sole trader and is subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Username (chosen by you at registration — does not need to be your real name)

  • Email address (used for account management and optional communications)

  • Membership and billing details, processed securely via our payment provider

  • Comments, chat messages, game library entries, and other content you submit

  • Communications with us via email or contact forms

We do not ask for your full name, date of birth, phone number, address, or any other personal identifiers beyond a username and email address. We do not store plain text passwords. Passwords are processed using industry-standard one-way hashing before storage.

Information collected automatically

  • Browser type, device type, and operating system

  • IP address and approximate location (country/state level)

  • Pages and streams visited, time spent on the Site, and referring URLs

  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your member account

  • Authenticate your login and protect your account

  • Process membership subscriptions and payments

  • Deliver live streams, editorial content, and community features (chat, comments, discussion)

  • Maintain and display your personal game library

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support

  • Improve the Site, understand usage patterns, and develop new features

  • Send you transactional emails (account activity, billing confirmations, password resets, and service notices) — these are sent regardless of marketing preferences

  • Send you newsletters and editorial content via email, if you have opted in

  • Send you marketing and promotional communications via email or push notification, if you have opted in

  • Comply with legal obligations under Australian law

We will not use your personal information for purposes unrelated to the above without your consent.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate the Site (e.g. payment processors, email platforms, hosting and streaming infrastructure) — bound by confidentiality obligations.

  • Community features: Your username and any content you post publicly (comments, chat, discussion) will be visible to other users of the Site. You control what you share in these spaces

  • Legal requirements: When required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a government request

  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction

4. Passwords and Account Security

We do not store your password in plain text. Passwords are hashed using a secure, industry-standard algorithm before being stored. We will never ask you for your password via email, chat, or any channel other than the login form on the Site.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Please use a strong, unique password and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to support account authentication, remember your preferences, and analyse Site and stream traffic. You can control cookie settings through your browser. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality, including the ability to stay logged in.

We do not use cookies to serve third-party advertising and we do not sell advertising on the Site.

6. Email and Push Notification Communications

We may contact you by email for the following purposes:

  • Transactional emails: account confirmations, password resets, billing receipts, and other service-related notices. These are sent as part of providing the service and are not subject to opt-out.

  • Newsletters and editorial content: sent periodically if you have opted in at registration or via your account settings.

  • Marketing and promotional content: sent by email or push notification if you have separately opted in.

You may opt out of newsletters, marketing emails, and push notifications at any time by visiting your account page at leveluptimes.com/profile. Opting out of marketing communications will not affect your receipt of transactional emails.

7. Community Content and Moderation

Content you post in chat, comments, and discussion areas is visible to other users. Please do not share sensitive personal information in public community spaces. We are not responsible for how other users may use content you voluntarily share publicly on the Site.

We reserve the right to moderate, remove, edit, or restrict any user or user-submitted content at any time, at our sole discretion. This right is not limited to legal or regulatory reasons and extends to content we consider disreputable, misleading, harmful, or inconsistent with the purpose of the service. We retain community content (comments, chat logs) as part of the Site record. If you wish to have specific content removed, contact us and we will consider your request in accordance with our moderation policies and any applicable legal obligations.

8. Your Game Library and Game Data

Your personal game library is stored against your account and is not shared publicly unless you choose to make it visible. Game data displayed on the Site — including game database entries and how long to beat information — is sourced from third-parties such as the IGDB (Internet Game Database). We do not claim ownership of this data and make no warranty as to its accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose. IGDB data is provided as-is.

We may use your game library and console library data in aggregate, de-identified form to help grow Level Up Times and to inform our work with marketing or advertising partners. This aggregate data will not identify you personally.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you close your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain it by law (e.g. for financial or tax records).

10. Your Rights Under Australian Privacy Law

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information

  • Opt out of direct marketing and newsletter communications at any time via leveluptimes.com/profile

  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data (subject to legal retention obligations)

  • Lodge a complaint with us, or with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you are unsatisfied with our response

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the details in Section 13.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including password hashing, encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), and access controls on our infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
