
The reboot of the fantasy-comedy franchise Fable, originally slated for later this year, has officially been announced to be moving to next year, per Xbox's official X post:
In order to plan our game launches through the holidays, in a way that works best for players, we’re moving Fable to February 2027 (Source: Xbox's official X post.
While Xbox claims this is to give the Playground Games-developed reboot the "moment it deserves", it's hard to not see this as a reaction to the firming up of Grand Theft Auto VI in November. Earlier this month, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed in their earnings call that despite rumours to the contrary, there are no plans to further delay the game, and claiming projected revenue of $8.2 billion in the next fiscal year.
