The much-anticipated next entry in the popular JRPG series has hit, and not surprisingly, has done well.
Atlus, developer of hit JRPG series Persona (and publisher of the franchise in Japan and the US) today announced that the latest entry in the long-running JRPG series has moved 1.5 million copies worldwide.
While this doesn’t necessarily mean 1.5 million copies have sold through, but it does show a steady increase in sales for the franchise, with the previous title Persona 4 Golden selling more than 700,000 copies through. Persona 5 is already the fastest-selling title in the franchise, selling almost 350,000 copies in retail at launch last year in September.
The latest entry has been received well in the West since its release this week, currently sitting on a MetaCritic score of 94, and receiving 9/10 scores from outlets Polygon and GameSpot, among others.
